President’s Message 13 Nov 17

Once again the Calcutta was a fun night
with lots of laughs and bonus dollars for
the lucky winners whose details are inside.
Thank you once again to Kent, Wayne and
Neil Wilson for their efforts in organising
the night and to Smokey for his time on the
floor somehow squeezing extra bids out of
the audience. Whilst the numbers were a
bit less then we hoped it was nice to see a
few “friends of Rotary” joining us.
After further investigation the Board has
decided not to proceed with the proposed
sausage sizzle at Danaher’s. According to
their management they average around
500 sales on a Saturday, meaning that
amount we would be likely to raise could
not justify the time and effort involved. We
shall approach Bunnings and see if we can
get a booking for a Saturday or Sunday in
the New Year. We have approved Ahmed Ibrahim for the
RYLA conference which commences on
19 November. We believe that he is an
outstanding candidate and he will be our
guest at next Monday’s meeting where he
will introduce himself and explain what he
expects to gain from attending RYLA. He
will also attend next year to tell us about
his experience.
President Tony
